truth or dare network text

[personal profile] paperpusher 2025-06-15 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's a full day before Natori gets back to their truth or dare game, which is impressive given how much Chirpy has been screaming at him for leaving the game unfinished. (He even tried exorcising it, briefly but halfheartedly, before tossing himself into other games with other people so he could at least seem busy.)

The problem is that despite it being in the very name of the game, Natori hasn't been telling the truth. Sometimes it's simply not telling the whole truth, sometimes it's eliding the core of the question in favor of a literal interpretation, and sometimes it was outright lies. And so unbeknownst to him, his suit has taken matters into its own hands.

Maybe Natori should have noticed the outside influence on his mood-- but like the most insidious ayakashi, it's subtle enough that it doesn't feel all that foreign. A push behind what he's already feeling, especially when thinking about a person who he already has a complicated mess of feelings about. Once again a disappointment to the exorcist community, Natori snaps back to their game thread and picks up like it's a conversation he never left off, though it's not the one they were just having.]

Why are you still hiding things from me

Guess ✨

[Might as well see if he can get Matoba to volunteer some, though he knows it's probably not going to happen.]
paperpusher: (I heard that sitting down can kill you)

[No, not really.]

What happens to former guests of the hotel who don't win the game?
paperpusher: (guess I'm a coward)

I've already spoken to someone who told me about the statues, so let's talk about the ones who aren't wandering.

This isn't something you've heard of?
paperpusher: (where do we go?)

[personal profile] paperpusher 2025-06-15 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Deeper than where my room is, I assume.

What I've heard is that some of the guests become those statues. Not every statue is a guest, but many are, and enough that it seems that people who have been here long enough might recognize some of them from their personal encounters.

[Like Matoba, maybe.]

[Natori reads "relieved" and "helpless" together in that text, and once again feels a deep disgust for the man that Seiji had become-- but no. That's probably exactly what Seiji would have said too.]

Sure. It'd be a pain to fuck someone and then have to pass their statue every day. How embarrassing for you.

Is that a dare, then? To investigate the statues.
paperpusher: (bury a friend)

Then I accept.

[And now that there isn't an open round of truth or dare pending, he tries once again to close out.]
