Then he just launches into what he's going to say, like picking up a conversation that they'd just left off. He isn't slurring his words as if he's drunk, but he still doesn't sound... sober.]

She said it was sad. She doesn't understand... A lot of people here don't understand. They think you can just stay with whoever you want, and there aren't any consequences or things you owe other people. Like in the movies.
