IN CHARACTER

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: He will be weirded out but go for it! He'll probably tease you for having emotions, if it's genuine affection. In a transactional sense, he isn't unaware of it, but as a tool in his wheelhouse sex or seduction is probably the last thing he'd consider. If there's something he really wants, though, he isn't opposed, and he's willing to offer it as a price. I do have a character kinks list here if threads veer into that territory!

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Blanket answer is: plot with me! He is... how he is, so understandably your character might want to punch him in the face. Matoba is a squishy mage type who will go many other routes before he turns to a face to face fight, so he will almost always try to avoid the threat of a physical violence unless it's a situation where he thinks he can manipulate things to his advantage with traps and magic.

RELATIONSHIPS: Conceal don't feel is the exorcist motto. Matoba is not going to express interest in pursuing emotional relationships with anyone (except Natori, and even then their vibe is bad exes so that's kind of a messy #complicated thing), but getting under his mask isn't impossible. Friendships are only slightly less iffy- showing weakness towards someone only makes them a possible target, compromising their safety and his. And honestly, he just doesn't view most people as anything more than tools to be used for a goal- himself included. Business relationships, though? He'll be up front and open to negotiation. Everything is transactional.

PSYCHIC/PSIONIC/MAGICAL INFORMATION:
INCOMING: Emotionally: closed-off, white noise. Extremely powerful spiritually. Feels human but with an oilslick of something very unpleasant on the surface. This is because his right eye has a curse on it- hunted by a youkai- that can be sensed by others, if the spelltag over it didn't make it obvious. It feels really awful and really powerful.
OUTGOING: Matoba can sense the general magical/spiritual power level of others and sense whether they are carrying objects of power, as well as perceive hidden wards, curses and spells.

MEDICAL INFORMATION: His right eye is dubiously usable- canon has kinda flip-flopped on the deets. We know for sure there are scars over it, but the eyeball is still there. 🤷‍♀️

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS:
TO Matoba: Matoba is not really offended by anything, but he finds the concept of people being taken in by youkai's deceit, the concept of people viewing youkai as equal to humans, distasteful and dangerous. He will seek to convince others of this if they are sympathetic. He's also got some Opinions about leadership and survival, and particularly about self-sacrifice as a leader.
FROM Matoba: Matoba is not a pleasant person. In interacting with him, these are some subjects that may come up: casual real-life racism/sexism, intense fantasy racism (particularly hate towards non-humans), use of violence and coercion and emotional/mental health manipulation. His hate towards non-humans is extreme and will come up as a constant subject with him. Please feel free to opt-out of interacting with him on my HMD if this makes you uncomfortable!

OUT OF CHARACTER

BACKTAGGING: Go for it! Sometimes I hit a wall with thread load after a month or two but I typically try to keep stuff going if it will affect major plot/CR development.
THREADHOPPING: For network threads I'm ok with this if the other person is! For logs I prefer this to be plotted out in advance.
FOURTHWALLING: No thank you in terms of fictionality, but I'm ok with voice actor jokes, I love those lol
NOT INTERESTED IN: Character death unless plotted out as a longterm goal. For fights and smut that may involve non-con I prefer details to be discussed in advance but there's nothing else I'm really opposed to!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

VISUAL: 5'9ish"/174cm tall, long black hair that's always in a low ponytail, with layered bangs that fall over and partially cover the right side of his face. Eyes are a dark almost-black red, and actually have a cat-like pupil, although it's incredibly difficult to tell unless you're close up. His right eye has scars over the lids but is always covered by an eyepatch made of paper with spellscript painted onto it. Normally wears heavy, dark kimono and haori, but sometimes wears a black suit when he's dealing with normie human yakuza or politicians. If he's not working or he needs to blend in with a human crowd, he wears tees, hoodies and joggers/jeans, because he's a useless ass boy.
AURAL: He's a Suwabe. Uses keigo at all times because he's an asshole. 'Watashi' personal pronoun, 'kimi' for others- unless you're non-human, then you're 'anata'. Everyone gets an honorific except youkai/inhumans (with a few CR-based exceptions).
OLFACTORY: Youkai in his canon can actually smell that he is an exorcist, so if your character has that ability, feel free! He probably smells like incense, an old attic, and the burning scent of purification.
DEMEANOUR: Smiles at all times, especially if he's being unpleasant. He only stops smiling when he's been caught off guard and he's pissed. His smile is not at all convincing. He's very clearly shady!! Does he actually realize this? Who knows. Crazy cat lady guy. Childish sweet-tooth. He does not know how to be a normal person and he doesn't really try.
