Natsume Yuujinchou is a series dealing with youkai, Japanese folklore, spirits, kami, and the intermingling of humans with them. Specifically, the Matoba are a clan of exorcists, raised for generations with strong spiritual senses and knowledge of creatures and techniques dealing with spirits.
Generally, in-series, humans with spiritual power are referred to as "able to see". Either "youkai" or "ayakashi" are specifically used to refer to Japanese folklore spirits in the series, though "ayakashi" is used as a more umbrella term and I'll be leaning towards using that. Spirits bound to the service of an exorcist are referred to as "shiki" (shikigami).
As Matoba has strong spiritual power and the ability to sense abnormalities (and is also the manipulative sort of character to use this to his advantage), please let me know if there is anything I should know about your character and anything you'd like to opt in/out of regarding the following:

Matoba can't tell humans apart from ayakashi by sight alone, but he can tell more from someone's general feel- both by behavior, and when an aura is too powerful for a normal person.
If your character is human, is your character capable themselves of sensing spiritual energy, youkai, demons, etc? This is so I know what info to drop you in tag brackets!
Does your character carry any manner of object or artifact that might ping as being related to spirits, demons, the underworld, etc? He might not be able to tell if it's you or the object you're holding that's pinging! Feel free to give details based on your canon.

If your character is human, is your character capable themselves of sensing the supernatural? Do they have spiritual powers?
Yes. Tohsaka is capable of sensing the supernatural and her body produces a massive amount of magical energy. The visual novel explains this as: if a human generates 5 units of magical energy (at such low levels this is simply considered 'life energy'), and the average mage generates 25 units of magical energy, then Rin generates 500 units of magical energy.
Does your character carry any manner of object or artifact that might ping as being supernatural?
Yes. She doesn't have many at the moment, but typically Rin will carry jewel(s) that have magical energy she has drained from herself and stored into them for use.
Are you okay with Matoba sensing your character's ability/their magical or spiritual artifact?
Yes. Typically mages are able to "conceal" this, but since Rin has not yet come across a mage that works similar to the kind in her world she hasn't bothered to do so.

Baizhu is actually mostly human but for his eyes, which he’d swapped with his pet snake, Changsheng, after making a pact with her. In doing so, he’s able to freely use Changsheng’s power to swap around medical conditions and qi/life force from person to person, not to mention that he’s also basically sharing his lifespan with her.

He’s capable of sensing some traces of elemental powers as well as malevolent energies considering his extensive research on the latter, but he doesn’t have any direct connections with the spiritual aside from Changsheng. He also can’t harness any spiritual powers!

Yep. He keeps this handy little trinket called a Vision hanging from his hip, which gives him access to his plant-based elemental powers.

Abso-fucking-lutely. 1000% go for it. Matoba’s free to sense Ro’s smelly malevolence on him too!!!

Yes, Charlie is a vampire. While he does a good job acting human, he's cold to the touch, has yellow eyes, and anyone with the ability to sense the supernatural would notice that he's inhuman.
In his canon, there's a concept of "the beast" which is the vampyric blood itself. Some regard it as a separate entity from the individual, while others interpret it as a manifestation of the individual's worst nature. I like to leave it vague, so totally up to you if Matoba senses an instinct other than Charlie's.

Yes; cultivators in MDZS have a decent amount of ability overlap with onmyoji. They can see/sense the supernatural and have qi-based spiritual powers. Xue Yang is also particularly sensitive to dead/vengeful spirits (yes, the ghosts in the hotel ping him, a lot).
